Hailey Tolle leads Fairfield with 20 points in win over Cincinnati Northwest

For the 10th time this season, the Fairfield Lady Lions left the basketball court as winners, this time defeating the Cincinnati Northwest Lady Knights by a 77-23 score on Saturday afternoon at Grandle Gymnasium.
The player of the day for the Lady Lions was Hailey Tolle with a game-high 20 points scored. She finished the game with 10 two-point baskets, with six of those coming in the second quarter.
In all, Fairfield had five players reach double-figure scoring, and each varsity player scored points. Next in the scoring column was Emma Fouch with 16 points, as she made five two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and was 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Peyton Magee finished with 11 points, as she connected with a 3-pointer and made four two-point baskets.
Madison Bronner and Braylynn Haines each scored 10 points, with Bronner finishing with four baskets from the field and two made free throws. Haines totaled five two-point buckets in the win.
Rounding out the Fairfield scoring were Ella Newkirk with five points, Faith Miller with three points and Paris Priest with two points.
In the game itself, Fairfield led 18-0 at the end of the opening frame with seven points from Magee (including a 3-pointer), while Fouch and Haines each scored four points. Bronner made two free throws in the first frame, and Newkirk made one free throw.
The Lady Lions outscored Northwest, 23-6 in the second quarter with 12 points off six baskets by Tolle, and teammate Bronner scored six points in the quarter off three buckets. Fouch and Haines each scored two points in the second, and Miller made a free throw.
Going into the third quarter with a 41-6 lead, it was smooth sailing for the Lady Lions, with them scoring 20 points in the third and 16 points in the fourth.
Four players added points for the Lady Lions in the third, and they were Newkirk (two), Fouch (eight), Magee (four) and Tolle (six). The fourth frame saw Fairfield scoring by Newkirk (two), Fouch (two), Tolle (two), Bronner (two), Haines (two) and Priest (two).
As a team, the Lady Lions totaled 32 two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and they were 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.
NWHS was led by Anye’ Shabazz with nine points. For the game, Northwest as a team collected seven two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and they were 3-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Next for Fairfield is a home game on Monday, Jan. 27 as they host SHAC Division II first-place Peebles. The JV game will only be two quarters, with a varsity start scheduled around 7 p.m.
