Fairfield Lady Lions softball ranked 4th in Week 2 state poll

LEESBURG — The Fairfield Lady Lions have moved up to the fourth-place spot in the Division III Ohio High School Softball Coaches Poll for Week 2 of the 2022 season.

Fairfield received 57 points in the vote to move from fifth place last week to fourth place.

Also in Division III, Wheelersburg (six first-place votes) and Cardington Lincoln (five first-place votes) are tied for first place in the state poll, as both teams gained a total of 11 points each in the voting.

In third place is West Jefferson with 69 points, Fairfield is fourth place with 57 points, and in fifth place is South Range (one first-place vote) with 53 points. The rest of the Top 10 are: North Union (43), Margaretta (33), Carlisle (32), Sherwood Fairview (30) and Otsego (29).

This season the Lady Lions are currently 11-2 overall following a win over the Valley Lady Indians. FHS is also 5-0 in Southern Hills Athletic Conference games, first place in Division I of the SHAC standings.
