Fairfield, Hillsboro run at Aaron Reed Memorial

The Fairfield boys cross-country team raced at the Aaron Reed Memorial Invitational held at Chillicothe Southeastern on Saturday.
Michael Mangus captured another first-place finish this season, this time in a field of 168 runners with a time of 16:21.
Mangus was followed by Blake Hildebrant in sixth place (17:23) and Trent Swisher in 18th at 18:06.
The Lions placed fourth as a team despite having two of its top five runners (Wyatt Crothers and Wyatt Evans) out with injuries. The meet was won by Unioto with a low score of 65.
Also for the Lions, Dustin Willey (51st, 19:55), Mason Cain (66th, 20:19), Matthew Leach (71st, 20:33), Dillon Burley (112th, 22:28), Skylar Moon (130th, 23:36), Jason Moeller (136th, 24:18) and Tony Paul (141st, 24:40).[[In-content Ad]]
Hillsboro also ran in the race, finishing in fifth place in the boys event with a time of 1:33.28. Leading the Indians was DeAndre Steward in 14th place at 17:52.
The FHS girls had only one runner at the meet as Haleigh Bates placed 130th with a time of 33:21.
For HHS, their leading girls runner was Alissa Hauke with a time of 21:45 for 20th place overall. Reaghan Haines was 21st for the Lady Indians at 21:49. The HHS girls team finished in third place overall with a team time of 1:52.06.
The Fairfield middle school and high school teams will be back in action at George Rogers Clark State Park Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21.
