Fairfield coach Chad Hamilton earns 100th career win; Lady Lions defeat Ripley

Fairfield Lions head coach Chad Hamilton earned a coaching milestone on Thursday, Feb. 4, as the eight-year head coach earned his 100th career coaching win in the Lady Lions’ victory at Grandle Gymnasium by a score of 73-23 against the Ripley Lady Blue Jays.
The win was also a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory, and in the 50-point win by the Lady Lions, they had a total of six players reach the scoring column.
Two Fairfield players exceeded the 20-point scoring plateau, while three players in all scored at least 10 points in the SHAC victory.
Juniors Emma Fouch and Ella Newkirk combined for 48 points in the win, with Fouch scoring 25 points and Newkirk having 23 points.
Fouch finished with three 3-pointers, seven two-point baskets and was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. Fouch also collected two rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Newkirk had four 3-pointers, five two-point baskets and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Newkirk also finished with three rebounds, seven assists and nine steals.
Peyton Magee, a sophomore, scored 13 points for Fairfield as she had six two-point field goals and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Magee also collected nine rebounds (seven offensive), nine assists and five steals.
Also scoring points for Fairfield were Madison Bronner with six points, Faith Donley with four points and Campbell Friend with two points.
As a team, FHS totaled seven 3-pointers, 23 two-point baskets and they were 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.
FHS also collected 25 rebounds (16 offensive), along with 18 assists and 24 steals.
As for the milestone win for Hamilton, he began coaching the Lady Lions as their head coach for the 2013-14 season. He’s also led FHS to an SHAC Division II championship in 2017-18.
