Fairfield boys teams victorious at Blue Lion Invitational

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Fairfield boys high and middle school cross-country teams were the winners at the 2022 Blue Lion Invitational in Washington C.H. with a score of 68.
The event winner was Whiteoak’s Landen Eyre with a time of 15:33 in the boys varsity race.
As for the Fairfield Lions boys team, leading the way was Landry Hattan with a third-place time of 16:24.50.
Also for the Lions in the Top 10 was Britton Campbell in ninth at 17:50.27. Nolan Campbell was 12th place for the Lions at 17:57.23, and in 14th place was Larkin Friend at 18:03.31.
Other Fairfield times included: Jordan Bennington (19:01.95), Zach Ahsaruk (19:19.90), Zayden Hixon (20:38.38), Alex Gibson (21:00.50), John Kier (22:21.28), Hayden Barrera (24:48.84) and Iyden Taylor (25:43.85).
Also from Highland County, Hillsboro was second place in the varsity race at 77 points. Whiteoak was fourth place at 79 points, Lynchburg-Clay was ninth place at 231 points and McClain was 13th place at 397 points.
Hillsboro’s top runner was Corbin Winkle in fourth place with a time of 16:41.29.
Kyler Fite was the top runner for Lynchburg-Clay in 25th place with a time of 18:32.01.
McClain’s top finisher was Nicholas Alvarez with a time of 23:40.64.
In the boys middle school race, the Fairfield boys middle school team scored 77 points for the win.
Leading Fairfield was Griffin Friend with an eighth place time of 13:26.12. In 15th place was Caleb Rice at 13:49.53.
The rest of the Fairfield Middle School boys times included: Conner Ayres (13:51.46), Mason Lightle (14:04.51), Ryan Smith (14:16.81) and Owen Kier (28:53.56).
The winner of the middle school race was Hillsboro’s Rason Brunck with a time of 12:38.60.
