Fairfield 7th grade girls improve to 16-0 overall with recent wins

The Fairfield Lady Lions seventh grade girls basketball team gained recent wins over Greenfield Middle School and West Union to improve to 16-0 overall this season.
In a regular-season game, the Lady Lions won over Greenfield, 36-20. In the game, Fairfield led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter, and following a 14-4 score in the second frame in favor of the Lady Lions, they held a 27-13 lead at halftime.
For the third frame, Fairfield won that at 5-2, and in the fourth quarter they again won the quarter scoring at 4-3.
Hannah Hamilton was Fairfield’s leading scorer with 11 points, as she was tied with Mya Hamilton, who also scored 11 points.
Mackenzie Anderson finished with seven points, while Kassi Miller, Kinley Cox and Halle Jones each scored two points. Jobey Hattan completed the Fairfield scoring with one point.
Next, the Lady Lions faced the West Union Lady Dragons, winning by a 40-24 score in the SHAC Tournament.
The game saw Fairfield lead 9-7 after the first quarter was finished, and in the second Fairfield outscored West Union, 11-7 for a 20-14 halftime advantage. The second half saw the Lady Lions score 16 points in the third and four points in the fourth. West Union scored six points in the third and four points in the fourth quarter.
Mya Hamilton was Fairfield's leading scorer with 30 points, and Hannah Hamilton was next with five points. Kassi Miller added three points, and Mackenzie Anderson totaled two points in the victory.
Next for the 7th grade Lady Lions is the SHAC Girls Basketball Tournament Finals as they will be facing the North Adams Lady Green Devils at 1:45 p.m. at NAHS.
