A close to even first half made the game competitive for four frames Thursday night, but two single digit scoring quarters did in the Fairfield Lady Lions, as they dropped a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game to the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors, 54-39.
The game began with the Lady Lions trailing by just one point, 13-12, after eight minutes.
From there, EB outscored the host Lady Lions, 13-8 in the second frame for a halftime lead of 26-20.

Leading EB in scoring were Tressie Lewis with 17 points and Maria Johnson with 11, as Johnson sank three 3-pointers.
For the Lady Lions, Heather Cox led all scorers with a game-high 27 points, while collecting a double-double with 16 rebounds (five offensive). Cox also made a 3-pointer.
Also scoring points for FHS were Heather Sanderson with six, Kaitlin Evans with four and Justice Hatten with two.
FHS was 4-of-6 from the free-throw line, while EB was 11-of-15.
The Lady Lions finished with 22 rebounds, 12 assists, 12 steals and 20 turnovers. EB totaled 32 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 steals, four blocked shots and 15 turnovers.
Fairfield falls to 1-13 overall and 1-8 in the SHAC. EB moves to 4-5 in the SHAC and 5-11 overall. The Lady Lions play again on Monday at two-win Whiteoak.
