On November 17th, the Whiteoak Government classes visited the Ohio Supreme Court in Columbus. A number of students attended this educational trip to the ornately designed and awe inspiring building. When the students arrived in the courtroom, the Justices were returning from a recess and everyone was able to hear a 15 minute rebuttal from both sides of the case. This was a case involving a possible murder/homicide of a man that fell out of a boat in Lake Erie. During the tour, students participated in an evidence workstation, which demonstrated how what people say might not always be true. They also visited a display of court cases that had been reviewed in class and participated in a mock trial where students fill-in as jury, judge, prosecutor, and defense attorneys. It was a great experience and very educational![[In-content Ad]]
