Mowrystown – Female students at Whiteoak Junior/Senior High School recently had the opportunity to participate in a self-defense training session, thanks to the Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins and the Highland County Drug Task Force.
The session focused on equipping students with valuable techniques to protect themselves in real-life situations, reinforcing the importance of awareness, confidence, and personal safety. With a strong turnout, students actively engaged in hands-on training, learning effective self-defense strategies that can help them respond to potential threats.
We are incredibly grateful to Prosecutor Collins and the Highland County Drug Task Force for taking the time to provide this essential training. Empowering our students with knowledge and skills to protect themselves is an important step in fostering a safe and confident school community.
This initiative aligns with Bright Local Schools’ commitment to student well-being and personal development, ensuring that our students have the tools they need to navigate the world.
A huge thank-you to Anneka Collins and the Task Force for their dedication to student safety and for making a lasting impact on our young women at Whiteoak.
