Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter attends 97th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis

On the dates of Oct. 23-25, the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter made the haul up to Indianapolis, Ind. to attend The 97th National FFA Convention.

Our chapter made a stop at the Woodruff Farm, where members learned about non-pasteurized milk production. All 38 members got to enjoy Megan Moroney and Nate Smith’s performance at The Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The following day, members attended the Career Fair and Shopping Expo center. We experienced educational tours at Beasley’s Orchard and Poe Hamps Sheep Farm.

The day concluded with the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Members tearing up the dance floor at the Buckeye Bash hosted by Kelsay Farms. This event is open to all schools in Ohio, so members from Ohio can connect during this national event.

On Oct. 25, members got the amazing opportunity to hear Temple Grandin’s keynote address at the 4th General Session of the National FFA Convention. Next, the World’s Toughest Rodeo gave all of the members the ride of their life.

Finally, after a long, safe trip home, each member enjoyed this special experience to connect with FFA members across the nation and definitely needed some sleep.
