In mid-January, members of the Hillsboro FFA Chapter wanting to participate in the Ag Biotechnology CDE were required to take an online test that challenged their knowledge of the subject, including the tools required, techniques used and organisms found in agriculture.

After taking the online exam, the four individuals that placed the highest were sent to the state competition on Feb. 9. These individuals include Alexander McClarren, Gavin Brown, Reagan Eastes and Carter Boyd.

At the state competition, they all worked diligently while taking a written exam, classifying specific instruments/tools used in ag biotechnology, making observations, mixing solutions and participating in a team activity to solve a relevant problem in agriculture.

After receiving the results, these members placed seventh overall in the state.

The Hillsboro FFA is super proud of these individuals and would like to give a special thanks to Miss Weisner for helping them prepare.
