Members of the McClain High School Cadet Corps were honored recently with a state award, after the Hillsboro VFW Auxiliary Post 9094 nominated the group in recognition of their “support of Americanism in their community.”
Highland County commissioners Brad Roades, Terry Britton and David Daniels issued a proclamation recognizing the month of May as Buddy Poppy Month in Highland County at the start of their Wednesday, April 23 meeting.
The Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 made a $5,000 donation to the Highland County Historical Society Wednesday afternoon as one of the first contributions toward a new endowment fund being established by the Society.
