Steven 'Stevie' Edward Purtee

Steven “Stevie” Edward Purtee, 61, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

Stevie was born Oct. 19, 1961, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Charles E. and Janice (Credit) Purtee.

Stevie was a Hillsboro High School graduate. He was a member of the Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 and the Hillsboro Eagles Post #1161, where he also worked as a bartender. Stevie was always the life of the party, who never met a stranger. He loved his family and his dog, Gracie. He will be deeply missed.

Stevie is survived by three sisters, Sherry (Ed) Newman, Stacey (Michael) Davis and Lisa (Eric) Mason; nine nieces and nephews, Sarah Purtee, Hannah Purtee, Ashley Purtee, Wesley Purtee, Chandler Davis, Eddie Newman, Teal (Larry) McFarron, Emily Newman and Lisa Davis; a sister-in-law, Beth Purtee; and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Purtee; and a nephew, Charlie Davis.

Gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Celebration of Stevie’s life will take place Thursday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow services in the Gilboa Cemetery.
