Wilmington may seek re-entry into SCOL

The Wilmington City Schools Board of Education will consider a resolution to seek re-entry into the South Central Ohio League at its board meeting Monday, July 26.
Wilmington was a charter member of the SCOL in 1923.
Wilmington school board member Bill Liermann told The Highland County Press Saturday that he believed Wilmington would be a very good fit to rejoin the SCOL.
The SCOL members schools include: Hillsboro, McClain, Clinton Massie, Washington C.H., Miami Trace, London and Madison-Plains.
Those schools have agreed to maintain league affiliation through June 30, 2015.
Wilmington currently is a member of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference. The conference, which includes a number of suburban Cincinnati schools, is under going some changes and reclassifications.
Amelia, a former Clermont County member, recently left the FAVC for the Southern Buckeye Conference.
During a 2009 meeting of the SCOL Joint Board of Control and Athletic Directors, the league discussed expanding to include Wilmington, Jonathan Alder, Fairbanks and possibly East Clinton.
