For the second time in three weeks and the fifth time in his career, Noah Tobin is the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Runner of the Week.
This comes after a weekend in which Tobin competed at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Classic at Cedarville University. In a race filled with great runners, Tobin stood out among the pack and finished in third place at 24:38.8 and was first among Division III competitors. At one point in the race, Tobin was neck and neck with the leaders, but fell back a bit over the final minutes of the competition.
This was by far Tobin's best race in this event, as his best had been a 16th place finish in 2023, where he ran 25:23.0.
The graduate student was beaten by his former teammate Simon Heys, who raced unattached and won at 24:23.7, before Tyler Jenkins of the University of Rio Grande was second with a time of 24:33.9.
Tobin (St. Mary's, Ohio/Memorial HS) has been phenomenal so far this season for the Quakers, winning his first two races, before his third-place finish on Friday. He will look to continue his strong season Oct. 4 in Terre Haute, Ind. for the Division III Pre-Nationals race, hosted by Rose-Hulman at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course. This is the site of the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross-Country Championships.
