WC baseball earns 5 CSC Academic All-District honors
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2025 Academic All-District Baseball teams, and the Wilmington College baseball team had five players honored.
Four of them are being honored for the first time in juniors Kyle Jennings and Trent Mendenhall along with sophomores JP Donelan and Max Gildea. Earning the honor for the second time in his Quakers career is graduate student Luke Chappie.
Chappie (Clarksville, Ohio/Clinton-Massie HS) is a Sport Management major who made 12 appearances on the mound with a team high 11 starts and a team high 55.1 innings pitched.
Mendenhall (Pataskala, Ohio/Watkins Memorial HS) is a Communication Art-Organizational Communication & Sport Management major who also made 12 appearances on the mound with eight starts, while pitching 49 innings.
Jennings (Groveport, Ohio/Groveport Madison HS) is a Criminal Justice major who appeared in 29 games for the Quakers and started 28 of them.
Donelan (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands HS) is an Exercise Science major who appeared in 33 games for the Quakers and started 32 contests. He also appeared in nine games and made six starts on the mound for Wilmington, pitching 32.1 innings.
Gildea (Batavia, Ohio/Archbishop Moeller HS) is a Sport Management major who started all 36 games for the Quakers this season. He also started nine games on the mound for Wilmington, pitching 41.2 innings.
To be considered Academic All-District, you must be a sophomore or higher both academically and athletically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Athletically, you must have done one of the following: competed in at least 90 percent of your team's games, started at least 66 percent of your team's games, made at least 17 appearances on the mound, or pitched 35 innings.
