GREENFIELD — Saturday morning the McClain Tigers scrimmaged the Wilmington Hurricane at McClain Field.
The scrimmage was the Tigers' second of the summer, as they faced East Clinton last week on Aug. 10 at ECHS.
Earlier this summer Eact Clinton was accepted into the SCOL for membership in 2012 by a 7-0 vote, but Wilmington was denied membership with a 6-1 vote against them.
Wilmington will play two SCOL teams this regular season in Hillsboro and Miami Trace. East Clinton faces Clinton-Massie at the end of the regular season.
On Saturday, McClain senior wide receiver Zach Matracia caught a 40-plus yard pass from junior quarterback Cameron Cooper for a touchdown.
MHS will have one more scrimmage when they travel to Logan Elm on Friday, Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Week one of the regular season will kickoff on Friday, Aug. 27 when the Tigers travel to Adena High School to face the Warriors. Hillsboro will travel to Western Brown and Paint Valley will host New Miami that same Friday.
The Indians scrimmaged Adena on Saturday at AHS. Hillsboro, who doesn't have a home football scrimmage, will travel to Bainbridge Thursday, Aug. 19 to take on the Bearcats with a varsity start time of around 7 p.m.
Don't forget to pick up your copy of the 2010 SCOL Football Preview (featuring Paint Valley of the SVC) on Friday, Aug. 20.[[In-content Ad]]
