Prine, Eastern hand Lady Mustangs second loss

SARDINIA — Unable to contain Eastern Brown's Allison Prine, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs dropped their second game of the season, falling to the Lady Warriors, 4-1.
For the season, LC stands at 2-2 overall and 1-0 in Southern Hills League play, as Monday's contest was a non-league match against EB.
Prine had a hat-trick, plus one, scoring two goals in each half against the Lady Mustangs.
The game was close for the entire match, but it was Prine who put the Lady Warriors on the scoreboard first with a goal at the 14:44, beating the LC defense for the score.
LC tied the game 27 seconds later with a stick back goal, off a missed shot, by sophomore midfielder Brandi Hunter with 14:17 left in the first half.
Prine put the Lady Warriors in the lead for good with 8:30 left in the opening 40-minute half as she beat the LC defense again for her second goal of the non-league match.
The Lady Warriors scored twice more, with both goals in the second half when Prine netted her third goal with an assist from Brianna Williams with 14:17 left in the final half. The final goal by Prine came with one second remaining.
LC keeper Shelbi Halverson had nine saves.
"This was a close game throughout," LC coach Dennis West said. "This was a tough loss, though it was a non-league match."
LC was out-shot at goal 24-13 by the Lady Warriors.
