McClain JV and junior high teams wrestle in tournaments

On Dec. 4, the McClain JV wrestling team participated in the Groveport Reserve Invitational, in a 18 team tournament.  

The Tigers had two placers, with the top placer being Kaleb Osceola. Osceola placed third in the 189 pound class.  

Placing fourth for McClain was team captain Josh Barnett, also in the 189 pound class.

Another team captain John Caskey (215 pound class), had an outstanding tournament, going 2-1 on the day.

The JV team will compete next in the Circleville Kiwanis Tournament on Dec. 11 in a 17 team tournament.

On Dec. 4, in their first action of the year, the Greenfield Middle School wrestling team competed in the Washington Court House Duals. The Tigers finished 1-3 on the day, showing signs of improvement.  

Leading the way for the Greenfield squad was team captain Ethan Paul at 122 pounds. Paul went 4-0 on the day, winning a thriller against Cincinnati Moeller, with a five-point move that broke the tie score with ten seconds left.  

Also fairing well was Tommy Wilson (98) 3-0, Jacob Badgley (104) 2-2, Thomas Blevins (116) 2-2, Jimmy Unger (128) 2-2, and Cameron Spangler (150) 2-2.  

The Tigers will next see action on Dec. 22 in the Jamestown Greenview Duals.[[In-content Ad]]
