Lady Patriots suffer tough loss against Valor Christian

CANAL WINCHESTER — On Friday, Nov. 12 the Southern State Lady Patriots dropped a game Valor Christian College, 85-43.

Valor led 37-26 at the half, but took full control in the second half, outscoring SSCC 48-17.

Leading the Lady Patriots (0-2) in scoring was Caitlin Davis with 16 points, scoring 10 points in the second half. Davis sank two 3-pointers in each half.

Jessica Sexton scored 11 for SSCC, finishing 5-of-5 from the free-throw line, while making three two-point field goals. Nine of her 11 points came in the first half.

Skye Lucas wrapped up the game with eight points, with a 4-of-6 effort from the free-throw line, with teammate Samantha Frost scoring five points. Breanne Knaoff scored two points and Karissa Shivener was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Overall, SSCC was 15-of-26 from the foul line, with eight two-point field goals and four 3-pointers.

Leading Valor was Asia Glen with 20 points, followed by LaVonne McElroy with 19 points. Kelly Brown had 18 points.

Valor was 5-of-16 from the free-throw line, sinking four 3-pointers and 34 two-point shots.

SSCC stands at 0-2 overall. They will travel Monday to face UC Clermont at 5:30 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
