Lady Mustangs win battle with West Union

By
The Highland County Press-
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs continue to impress on the volleyball court, especially in the five-game match this season.
In fact, they continued to impress for their fourth straight match, as they defeated the West Union Lady Dragons by scores of (17-25), 25-19, 25-10, (20-25) and 15-9, Thursday.
Earlier in the week, LC won in five games against the Paint Valley Bearcats (non-league), at PVHS. Their first Southern Hills League win came in a three-game win against Ripley, also this past week.
LC (2-0, 4-1) won their second SHL match, due in large part, behind the serving of Daisy Christophel. Christophel finished with a team-high 25 points on serve in the win over WU. Christophel also led LC in blocks with two.
Lynchburg-Clay senior Magan Stegbauer continues to dominate up front for LC, leading in kills with 10 against the Lady Dragons.
Elizabeth Spidel was, once again, the Lady Mustang leader in assists and senior Hannah Blankenship was the leading Lady Mustang in digs.
LC stands a perfect 2-0 in SHL play and 4-1 overall.
