DODSONVILLE — The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs dropped their final regular season game of the year on Saturday to the Zane Trace Lady Pioneers, 2-0 at Lynchburg-Clay High School.

"We stayed even with Zane Trace until our keeper Shelbi (Halverson) was injured," LC coach Dennis West said. "After she was out of the game, it rattled our defense."

In the non-league contest, Zane Trace scored both their goals in the second half, both with under 30 minutes to go.

Brooke Uhrig scored first for ZT with 27:01 left, followed by a goal from Rachel Hutton with 5:27 left in the match. Each player beat the defense of LC.

Maggie Davis had two saves for ZT, as LC was out-shot in the game, 19-7. Shelbi Halverson had six saves for LC in 52 minutes, and Emma Setty had two saves in 28 minutes as LC keeper.

The overall record for LC is 10-5-1 overall and 6-1 in the SHL.

"We were certainly pleased with the girls' effort and hopefully Shelbi comes back soon, if not, we are sure Emma Setty will do well," West said.
