Duncan becomes WC Quakers’ 1st USTFCCCA Women's National Athlete of the Week

Wilmington College’s Faith Duncan accomplished something Monday afternoon that had never been done in program history: she was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week.

Duncan was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Runner of the Week for the second time this season for her performance at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Classic on Friday evening.

Duncan won the race held at Cedarville University by over 24 seconds with a new program record time of 21:17.6. She broke her own 6k program record that she had just set a few weeks ago.

Duncan and Cedarville’s Corinne Lynch were neck and neck throughout the first few miles of the race, but Duncan kicked past Lynch and never looked back en route to her dominant victory. This is Duncan’s third win of the season, as she won every race she has competed in.

Duncan (Lebanon HS/Lebanon, Ohio) looks to continue her impressive season on Oct. 4 in Terre Haute, Ind. at the Division III Pre-Nationals race. This event is held at Rose-Hulman at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course, which is where the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross-Country Championships are held this season.
