Bengals sign Brightwell to practice squad

The Cincinnati Bengals Monday signed HB Gary Brightwell to the practice squad.

Brightwell (6-1, 218), a fourth-year player out of the University of Arizona, originally was a sixth-round draft pick of the N.Y. Giants in 2021. He has played in 39 career regular-season games for the Giants (2021-23) and Cleveland Browns (’24), totaling 41 rushing attempts for 164 yards and one TD. He also has caught 11 passes for 92 yards and returned 28 kickoffs for 591 yards (21.1 average).

He was released from the Browns’ practice squad on Oct. 29.
