Wildcats have 2-run loss against Paint Valley

The Whiteoak Wildcats lost at home on Monday evening against the visiting Paint Valley Bearcats by a 4-2 score in non-conference play at WHS.
PV gained a 4-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning, but WHS came back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth for a 4-2 score.
The Bearcats added one final run for the two-run win in the top of the seventh.
As for Whiteoak’s two-run sixth inning, Gabe Michael and Abe Flader scored runs off a triple hit by Lucas Pollard. Both Michael and Flader each walked to get to the bases.
Pollard finished 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. Flader was 1-for-2 with a run and one walk.
Jonah Michael walked once and had one steal. Jacob Kiley walked once, and also drawing a walk was Karson Arey. Gabe Michael finished with two walks and one run.
WHS committed one error.
The loss was charged to Gabe Michael, who pitched five innings, allowing four earned runs with five strikeouts and one walk.
Jude Michael pitched two innings, allowing one run (none earned) with one walk and two hits.
WHS is now 0-2 overall.
Next for the Wildcats was a SHAC game Tuesday, March 31 on the road at North Adams at 5 p.m.
