Mustangs top non-conference foe Chillicothe

Not even a Cavalier could stop the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs on Wednesday evening, as they traveled to Ross County and defeated the Chillicothe Cavaliers in non-conference action by a 5-0 score.
The Mustangs saw both Cole Wells and Quin Wells lead the team in hits, plus it was Cole Wells gaining the win on the mound.
LCHS totaled five hits in the victory, scoring three runs in the top of the first and one run in both the sixth and seventh innings for the win. Cole Wells finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and a walk, while Quin Wells went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI as they combined for four of the five LCHS hits.
Tanner Roberts also had a hit for the Mustangs, finishing 1-for-2 with two RBI and two walks. Christian Flowers ended the game with one run and two walks. The Mustangs also had Braedon West force a walk. Jay Cordrey scored two runs as a courtesy runner for Cole Wells.
Earning steals were Cody Bell and Quin Wells, while Bell was also hit by a pitch.
Cole Wells in the win on the mound pitched all seven innings, allowing no runs on two hits sand four walks with 14 strikeouts as he threw 112 pitches.
Lynchburg-Clay’s victory improves their overall record to 14-2 this season.
