Lynchburg-Clay boys golf champions of the Eastern Invitational

Monday (Aug. 4) was a huge day for the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys golf team by winning the 2025 Eastern Invitational at Friendly Meadows. 

The Mustangs had five players in the invitational, excelling in the event with a winning score of 309 for the top spot. They were 10 strokes better than the second place finisher, the West Union Dragons who carded a 319 score. 

In all, there were a total of nine schools competing in the event. 

Lynchburg-Clay was led by Nolan Wilkin who shot a 75 in the nine holes played. Next for the Mustangs was Aiden Bene with a score of 76, and Jackson West finished with a score of 77. 

LCHS also had a score of 81 from Kristian Beachy and Austin Manning finished with a final score of 98. 

The Mustangs Facebook page described the win on Monday: 

“From start to finish, this team played with focus, confidence, and Mustang pride. Every shot counted, and every player stepped up when it mattered most. This is a huge accomplishment for the program, and a sign of even bigger things ahead.”
