LC Mustangs boys golf battles strong as season continues

In recent matches the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys golf team has continued to play strong in non-conference and against members of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference. 

Here are some highlights of their recent matches on the links: 

Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025
Mustangs gain wins against Peebles and Fairfield 

Playing against two foes from the SHAC, the LCHS Mustangs defeated both the Fairfield Lions and Peebles Indians with the Mustangs having a team score of 141. Peebles was second place at 159 and the Lions were third place at 169 at the Adams County Country Club. 

The Mustangs were led on the golf course by Aiden Bene as he shot a low score of 31 in the nine-hole event, including having an eagle on the ninth hole. 

Next in the standings was Jackson West with a score of 34, followed by Kristian Beachy (37), Nolan Wilkin (39), Austin Manning (42) and Jayden Pettit (59).

Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025 
Mustangs to Fairfield and Whiteoak on the links 

Again against two opponents from the SHAC, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs were first place with a score of 166 over the Fairfield Lions and the Whiteoak Wildcats at Buckeye Hills Country Club. 

This time it was Jackson West being the leader of the Mustangs with a low score of 38 as he was the match medalist. Aiden Bene was next with a score of 40, and shooting a score of 42 was Nolan Wilkin. 

More scores for the Mustangs included: Kristian Beachy (46), Carson Pfister (47), Austin Manning (48) and Jayden Pettit (60).

Friday, Aug. 22, 2025 
Lynchburg-Clay wins at Hillsboro Elks over North Adams 

Facing another opponent from the SHAC the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs defeated the North Adams Green Devils with a score of 177 against the Green Devils’ score of 207. 

Jackson was the leading golfer for the Mustangs with a score of 36 to gain medalist honors for the match. 

The Mustangs also had Kristian Beachy final with a final score of 44, while Austin Manning carded a score of 45. Carson Pfister finished with a round of 49, while Tanner Roberts ended the evening with a 51. LC’s Jayden Pettit totaled a 63 in the match.

Monday, Aug. 25, 2025 
LC places 2nd against Manchester and North Adams 

Facing two SHAC opponents, once again, this time the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys golf team finished second place in the tri-match against the eventual winner Manchester and North Adams, who finished in third place. 

Manchester won the event with a 165 score, while the Mustangs came in second with a score of 171. North Adams took third with a 177 score. 

LCHS was led on the links by Kristian Beachy and Jackson West as each golfer finished with a score of 41. 

Nolan Wilkin was next with a 42 score, while Austin Manning finished with a score of 47. 

The remaining scores for LCHS were Aiden Bene (48), Carson Pfister (51) and Jayden Pettit (58).
