Lady Mustangs soccer advances with OT win over North Adams

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs advanced in their Division V SE District Quarterfinal match on Wednesday, as they won in overtime against the visiting North Adams Lady Green Devils by a 1-0 score.
Lynchburg-Clay, the No. 2 seed, won with a goal in the first overtime by junior Savannah Bell with the assist from senior Sophia Michael against the No. 7 seeded Lady Green Devils.
The match was tied at 0-0 after the 80 minutes played in regulation.
At goal for LCHS, senior Caitlyn Collins finished with seven saves.
Earlier this season, Lynchburg-Clay and North Adams tied at 3-3 on Friday, Oct. 3 in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference match.
North Adams ends the season at 7-9-1. Lynchburg-Clay is now 6-8-2 overall this season.
Next for LCHS is a Division V SE District semifinal game on Monday, Oct. 20 in Waverly at Raidiger Field against the No. 3 seeded Valley Lady Indians (Lucasville) at 7:30 p.m. Valley (12-5) defeated No. 6 seeded Westfall 1-0 in their quarterfinal match on Wednesday.
