Clift, Faust, Beachy and Wells selected ’26 OHSBCA All-Ohio

Four Highland County baseball players were named to the 2026 All-Ohio list as voted on by the coaches of the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association. 

Whiteoak High School and Lynchburg-Clay High School represent Highland County on the postseason list. 

The Whiteoak Wildcats’ second-team selection in Division VII is junior pitcher Izayah Clift. 

Lynchburg-Clay had three honorable mention selections in Division V, as those players are senior Elam Faust (catcher), and sophomores Quin Wells (utility) and Kristian Beachy (utility). 

In Division VII, Clift was selected as a pitcher where this season (2026), he finished with 10 appearances on the mound, pitching 65 innings. In those innings, Clift finished with a 1.292 ERA with a 1.000 WHIP. Clift also allowed 12 earned runs, walked 12 and ended the season with 93 strikeouts. The WHS junior was 5-4 overall and three shutouts. 

Lynchburg-Clay’s Faust was selected as a catcher, where defensively he finished with 166 put-outs, 13 assists, and had a fielding percentage of 0.989 percent. Faust at the plate in 24 games had 69 at-bats, with 36 runs, 31 hits (six doubles, one triple), 13 RBI, 12 walks and one SAC fly. He was hit by a pitch nine times and totaled 34 steals. Faust also finished with a .449 batting average, a .0571 on-base percentage and a .565 slugging percentage. 

Beachy of LCHS was a selection as a utility player, with the sophomore finishing ’26 with 28 games played, 88 at-bats, 22 runs, 30 hits (nine doubles, one home run), 37 RBI, 13 walks, three SAC flies and was hit by a pitch four times. 

The sophomore Beachy also had 13 steals, a .341 BA, a .435 OBP and a .477 SLG. Beachy also had a .895 fielding percentage with 47 put-outs and 21 assists. On the mound, Beachy, who threw a no-hitter, had eight appearances (30.1 IP), where he had 43 strikeouts with a 5-0 record as he compiled a 1.385 ERA with a 0.890 WHIP. 

Lynchburg-Clay’s Wells, a sophomore, was also a utility selection where he finished with 83 at-bats in 28 games. Wells scored 41 runs, while also collecting 45 hits (seven doubles, three triples, one home run), with 32 RBI, 12 walks, three SAC flies, a SAC bunt, 11 hits by pitch and 35 steals. Wells also had a .542 BA, with a .624 OBP and .759 SLG.

In the field, Wells finished with 28 put-outs, 34 assists and had a fielding percentage of .926. There was Wells on the mound, where he finished with 10 appearances with five complete games. Wells totaled 43 innings pitched with five earned runs, 64  strikeouts, an 8-0 record, two shutouts, a 0.814 ERA and a 0.884 WHIP.
