HHS falls in FAC game at MTHS

Facing the Miami Trace Lady Panthers in their second meeting in Frontier Athletic Conference play, the Hillsboro Lady Indians fell to their conference foe, 10-0 in five innings at MTHS on Monday. 

Hillsboro ended the FAC contest with five hits and six errors, while the Lady Panthers totaled 10 hits and no errors. 

Hillsboro had five hits from five different players, with Rilynn Swisshelm going 1-for-3, Addley Miller was 1-for-2, Peyton Spurlock was 1-for-2, Emory Zornes finished 1-for-2, and Raeden Workman was also 1-for-2. 

Workman and Swisshelm each had a steal. Swisshelm pitched four innings, finishing with four strikeouts for HHS.

Lady Indians play close in 1-run loss to Peebles 

In their closest game to date for the 2026 season, the Hillsboro Lady Indians played one of their best games of the season, but Peebles left Highland County with a one-run win for a 9-8 HHS loss at Hillsboro High School. 

The Hillsboro Lady Indians led 2-1 after the first inning and 4-1 following two more runs crossing the plate in the bottom of the second. Peebles scored a run in the top of the third. 

Hillsboro took a 7-3 lead over Peebles with PHS scoring one run in the top of the fourth, but HHS scored three runs in the bottom of the inning. 

Peebles answered with a five-run fifth inning, and they added one run in the top of the sixth to take a 9-8 lead and eventually the one-run win. 

Rilynn Swisshelm was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, as she also scored three runs and had one steal. 

Emory Zornes was 2-for-4 with one run and two RBI. Addley Miller ended the game at 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI. Peyton Spurlock was 2-for-4 with two RBI, as one of her hits was a triple. 

Chloe Roberts went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI, while teammate Leah Vance finished 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Paisley Zink was 1-for-4 with one run and a steal. Chloe Pierson forced a walk. 

Swisshelm pitched seven innings with four strikeouts in the loss.

Wednesday, April 8, 2026 
Ironton wins at Hillsboro 

Hillsboro hosted the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers, where it was IHS winning by a 10-0 score in six innings. 

Ironton finished their win with 13 hits and one error, while HHS totaled two hits and four errors. 

Hillsboro’s hits were from Peyton Spurlock (1-for-3) and Leah Vance (1-for-2, two steals). Chloe Roberts was hit by a pitch, had a walk and she collected one steal. 

Rilynn Swisshelm pitched six innings, collecting four strikeouts.
