Indians boys bowling places 10th at state championships

The 2024-25 season came to a close on the top stage on Saturday for the Hillsboro Indians, as they placed 10th overall at the Division I OHSAA State Bowling Championships.

The Indians finished with a total pin score of 3,960, as they were 53 pins out of the Top 8 championship bracket.

In the regulation games (three games), the Indians had a score of 2,970, with game scores of 955, 1,028 and 987.

The five Baker game scores for HHS were 135, 169, 267, 203 and 216 for a Baker total of 990.

Hillsboro senior Andrew Tomko led the way for the Indians with a 17th-place overall finish with a score of 661, as his game scores were 213, 213 and 235.

In 19th place for the Indians was junior Camden Lively with a 653 score. His game scores were 234, 222 and 197.

The 43rd place finisher was HHS junior Aidan Lemaster, as his 616 final total included scores of 169, 212 and 235.

Hillsboro also had senior Austin Bledsoe finish in 63rd place with individual game scores at 171, 192 and 195 for a three-game total of 558.

Senior Zach Burwinkel finished in 80th place with a 357 score in two games played, as his scores were 168 and 189.

The team state champion was Ashland, and the individual state champion was Parma Padua Franciscan freshman Zachary Mayer with a state-record score of 858, as his game scorers were 279, 279 and 300.
