Hillsboro soccer falls to host Eastern in boys and girls matches

Wednesday (Aug. 26) the Hillsboro Indians girls soccer team lost a non-conference game on the road by an 8-2 score against the host Eastern Warriors at Eastern High School.
The Lady Indians had goals scored by senior Arianna Evans and sophomore Emarey Schurman, with her goal being assisted by Evans.
HHS totaled two shots on goal against EHS and had six total shots in the match. At keeper for Hillsboro were senior Phoebe Holland with three saves, and junior Morgan Kelch with six saves.
Eastern’s goals were scored by junior Autumn Fahrian with two, freshman Kaitlyn Pfeffer with two, and with one goal each were sophomore Kinley Balon, freshman Macy Bolender, sophomore Alayna Musselman and junior Addalynn Perkins.
Eastern’s assists were credited to senior Makena Corbin with three; and with one assist each were Fahrian, Musselman and freshman Kaitlyn Pfeffer.
At keeper for Eastern were junior Chloe Hauck with four saves and sophomore Brooke Massie with one save.
HHS now stands at 3-2-0 overall this season. Next for HHS is their first Frontier Athletic Conference match of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 1 as they travel to face the Jackson Ironladies (2-0-0) at 7 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
Also on Wednesday, the Hillsboro Indians boys soccer team lost by a 3-0 score against the Eastern Warriors at EHS.
For the Indians, they totaled three shots in the match. Sophomore Owen Davis finished with three saves at goal for HHS.
All three of Eastern’s goals were scored by senior Jaidon Florence. Assists were credited to senior Kayne Dotson, and having two assists were junior Salvador Olmos. EHS totaled 20 shots, with 10 shots on goal.
At keeper for the Warriors were freshman Mason Moler and senior Chase Pinkerton, as Pinkerton totaled two saves.
The Hillsboro boys team now has an overall record of 1-3-1 this season. Next for the boys team will be their first Frontier Athletic Conference match of the ‘26 season scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Sept. 1 against the Jackson Ironmen at Jackson’s Alumni Stadium with a start time of 5 p.m.
