Though the start of Frontier Athletic Conference play was delayed by one day due to inclement weather last week, the games were finally played on Saturday and Week 6 was eventually in the books.

After six weeks, two teams in the FAC have winning records overall, those being Miami Trace and Jackson.

Here are the FAC football standings after six weeks:

Miami Trace     1-0, 5-1
Jackson         1-0, 4-2
Washington     1-0, 1-5
Hillsboro        0-1, 2-4
McClain        0-1, 1-5
Chillicothe    0-1, 0-6.

Here is the Week 7 football schedule:

- Chillicothe Cavaliers (0-1, 0-6) at Hillsboro Indians (0-1, 2-4)
The Hillsboro Indians are hosting their annual homecoming game, and this year their opponent is the Chillicothe Cavaliers.

The Cavs are on an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, as the first loss of that streak was an overtime loss to Hillsboro in 2023 by a 23-17 score.

The thing with the Cavs though is this season they have scored 20 or more points twice this season, and two of their losses are by two points or fewer, including last week where they lost to the Washington Blue Lions by a 28-26 score.

Looking at the Indians, they are coming off a loss this past Saturday to Miami Trace by a 44-27 score, but this season Indians have scored 21 or more points in all six games played.

The Indians are led in rushing this season by Dom Smart with 49 carries for 366 yards and five touchdowns.

This past game against Miami Trace, the Indians were led by Ryan Burns, who finished with 17 carries for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Another standout from Week 6 for HHS was Mason Dumpert totaling 15 carries for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, the standout was Nic Burns, who had two interceptions, giving him four this season.

Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Richards Memorial Field.

- McClain Tigers (0-1, 1-5) at Miami Trace Panthers (1-0, 5-1)
The McClain Tigers faced Jackson last Saturday afternoon, and this week gets no easier as they face the five-win Miami Trace Panthers.

The young Tigers are still battling strong each game, and for MTHS, they are coming off a win against the Hillsboro Indians where they took over the middle of the third quarter to the end of the game.

MTHS was led by Cooper Enochs in the run game last Saturday, where he had 15 carries for 201 yards and one touchdown. He also had two receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Miami Trace rushed for 318 yards on 38 carries as a team and had three rushing touchdowns to go with their three receiving scores.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at MTHS.

- Jackson Ironmen (1-0, 4-2) at Washington Blue Lions (1-0, 1-5)
The Jackson Ironman are the defending FAC champions for the past three seasons, and next they’ll face the Washington Blue Lions, who are coming off their first win of the ’24 season last Saturday.

Jackson this season has outscored their opponents 209-124, including a 55-0 win over McClain in Week 6. The Blue Lions have scored 85 points this season and allowed 269 points in six games.

Washington’s win was a 28-26 victory over Chillicothe at CHS last Saturday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gardner Park in Washington C.H.
