Hillsboro 2nd, McClain 5th in FAC No. 5 girls golf event

Tuesday (Aug. 20) the Frontier Athletic Conference held their fifth conference event at the Hillsboro Elks with the Jackson Ironladies winning the six-team event.

JHS won with a score of 202, followed by Hillsboro at 221 for second place. In third place was Miami Trace (222), followed by Chillicothe (226), McClain (229) and Washington (237).

Scores for Hillsboro saw Emma Yochum place fifth with a score of 51. Next was Blake Herdman for HHS in eighth place. Amani Cumberland was 11th overall with a score of 56. Halle Jones finished with a score of 60, Addy Knauff had a score of 61 and Rylea Scarberry carded a 62 for the Lady Indians.  

McClain’s top scorer was Kaylin Sterling in ninth place with a 55 score. Kallie Posey was 12th place overall with a score of 56, and in 13th place was teammate Abbie Lovett also with a score of 56.

The remaining McClain scores included: Reese Roble (62), Avery Murphy (63) and Hailey Cornett (63).
