Hillsboro falls to Chillicothe in 3 sets
Thursday, Aug. 28, the Hillsboro Lady Indians suffered a three-set loss in Frontier Athletic Conference play to the host Chillicothe Cavaliers at CHS.
HHS lost by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-22.
The Lady Indians were led in kills by Tylee Davis with 10, while Ryan Wagoner totaled four, Kayla Seeling had two, and with one each were Emmalee Young and Paisley Zink.
Leading in assists was Seeling with 11, followed by Wagoner with two, and having one assist apiece were Marianne Mycroft, Josie Rhoades, Young and Zink.
The digs leader was Davis with 16, followed by Wagoner with 14. Also with digs were Maci Fauber (one), Mycroft (seven), Rhoades (four), Allie Roush (five), Seeling (six), Young (four) and Zink (one).
Hillsboro had two aces in the match, both from Wagoner. The Lady Indians also had two blocks, one each by Mycroft and Young.
The Lady Indians are now 7-2 overall and 0-2 in the FAC.

Lynchburg-Clay has 3-set loss to North Adams
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs lost in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play Thursday evening (Aug. 28), as they fell to the visiting North Adams Lady Green Devils in three straight sets at LCHS.
LCHS lost by scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-14.
Kills for LCHS saw Halle Greene lead the way with six, while Melany Stephenson finished with five and Matalyn Magee totaled four. Also with kills were Avery Shope with three, Kylie O’Connor with two and Joslyn Rockey had one.
Ava McLaughlin was the assists leader with 21, having all assists for LCHS. The Lady Mustangs also had 11 aces with Stephenson totaling six, while O’Connor had three, and with one apiece were McLaughlin and Rockey.
Rockey led the way with 26 digs for the Lady Mustangs, and next were Shope (17), Stephenson (10), McLaughlin (eight), Greene (six), Jules Vesey (five), Magee (one) and O’Connor (one).
The Lady Mustangs also had seven blocks with Magee having five, Greene with one and Stephenson with one.
LCHS is now 2-1 in the SHAC Division I standings and 4-3 overall.

Lady Tigers go 1-2 in weekend invitational
The McClain Lady Tigers played in a volleyball invitational on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Unioto High School, where they played Warren, Fairfield Union and Washington in non-conference matches in a best-of-three series.
MHS lost to Warren and Fairfield Union in two straight sets in both matches, then defeated Washington in two straight sets to go 1-2 on Saturday.
Against Warren, the Lady Tigers lost 25-9 and 25-9.
Leading MHS in kills was Brynlee Karnes with three, and next was Alaya Jackson with two. Having one kill each were Molly McCune and Lydia Beatty. The Lady Tigers had two aces in the match with Lillie Saunders and Brooklyn Bolender with one each.
Of the 18 digs by MHS, Saunders totaled eight and Zoie Everhart had three. They were followed by Adalynn Snyder, Bolender and Kambriah Tomlin with two each. Having one dig was Shelby Wise.
McCune totaled four assists, while Izzy Clevenger finished with two. Saunders was the receptions leader with 18.
In their next match against Fairfield Union, MHS lost by scores of 25-12 and 25-16.
The win against Washington saw McClain win by scores of 25-9 and 25-21.
Stats for the Washington game included MHS with 15 kills as Lydia Beatty totaled seven, while teammates had the following kills stats: Snyder (two), Karnes (three) and Jackson (three).
The aces leader was Saunders with two, followed by Snyder, Bolender, McCune and Jackson each with one.
Lydia Beatty totaled one block for McClain, while Saunders led the team in digs with five. Also with digs vs. Washington was Snyder (one), Clevenger (one), Wise (one), Bolender (one), Tomlin (one), McCune (three) and Beatty (three).
McCune totaled 11 assists for the team lead, and also with assists were Clevenger (two) and Bolender (one).
McClain now stands at 3-7 overall.
