Indians tie host Miami Trace
The Hillsboro Indians finished in a tie with the host Miami Trace Panthers on Tuesday (Aug. 26) at Miami Trace High School, as each team scored two goals in the 2-2 Frontier Athletic Conference contest.
Hillsboro led by a 2-0 score at halftime, but the Panthers rallied to score twice in the second half.
The first-half goals for the Indians were scored by Ryan Howland and Jacob Seaman. Credited with an assist was Cooper Swope.
HHS took 10 shots in the game, and at goal for the Indians, Owen Davis finished with six saves.

Lions shut out by Rockets
The Fairfield Lions lost in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action on Wednesday, Aug. 27, as they were defeated in an away match against the Fayetteville Rockets by a 10-0 score.
Fairfield’s Anderson Humphreys ended the match with three saves.
For the Rockets, they had seven players score nine goals (FHS had an own goal), with Hayden Coyle and Jacob Rosselot each leading the Rockets with two goals each.

Mustangs win by 11 goals against Ripley
In a dominating win Wednesday evening, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs rebounded following their first loss of the season by defeating the visiting Ripley Blue Jays by an 11-0 score.
The Southern Hills Athletic Conference win by the Mustangs included a four-goal game by Elam Faust, followed by two goals each by Alexander VanFleet and Quin Wells. Also scoring one goal each were Harley Lewis, Darryn Odum and Wyatt Osborn.
Assists went to Faust, Mason Fisher (two), Osborn, Aric Slack, VanFleet and Wells.
At goal, LCHS keeper Tanner Roberts totaled three saves.
LCHS is now 5-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the SHAC.

Whiteoak loses on road to Peebles
Wednesday for the Whiteoak Wildcats saw them play in a tough match against the Peebles Indians in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play, falling by a 4-2 score at PHS.
Whiteoak ended the game with goals scored by Lucas Pollard and Christopher Wessner. Tre Lamb was credited with an assist for Whiteoak.
Goals for the Indians were scored by Connor Gross and Colyn Sims, with both players scoring two goals each.
Peebles keeper Holden Crum finished the game with 10 saves.

Hillsboro gains big win over Chillicothe
For the first time, the Hillsboro Indians defeated the Chillicothe Cavaliers in Frontier Athletic Conference play, defeating the host Cavaliers by a 4-2 score.
The Indians scored three goals in the first half and added one final goal in the second half. Chillicothe scored one goal in each of the two halves played.
Ryan Howland ended the night with two goals scored for the Indians, while he also had two assists. Also with one goal each were Grant Shephard and Dylan Bender. Cooper Swope and Easton Inman each had an assist.
The Indians as a team took 11 shots.
Owen Davis finished with four saves for the Indians.
The win sends Hillsboro to a 1-0-1 record in the FAC and 2-2-1 overall record.

Lions drop SHAC match to Warriors
Going on the road on Thursday, the Fairfield Lions lost to the host Eastern Warriors by a 4-1 score in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action.
Eastern had two goals each from Salvador Olmos and Jayse Riggs.
At goal for the Warriors was Chase Pinkerton with seven saves.
The Lions are now 0-3-0 in the SHAC and 0-5-0 overall.

Wildcats earn first win of season over Portsmouth Clay
It was a winning effort for the Whiteoak Wildcats on Thursday afternoon by defeating the Portsmouth Clay Trojans by a 3-2 score in non-conference play. The Wildcats had one goal each by Abe Flader and Christopher Wessner. WHS also had a goal added on an own goal by PCHS.
Jaden Fitzgerald gained an assist for WHS. At goal, Whiteoak’s Evan Richmond finished the day with 13 saves.
WHS is now 1-4-0 overall this season.

Tigers defeat Westfall, 7-3
Playing in a non-conference contest on Thursday the McClain Tigers boys soccer team defeated the visiting Westfall Mustangs, 7-3 at McClain Field.
Goals for the Mustangs were scored by Aaron Elder (two) and Evan Fritz (one).
