Tough 5th inning sends McClain baseball to loss at Chillicothe

The score between the Chillicothe Cavaliers and the visiting McClain Tigers was tied at 3-3 after four innings, but went the way of the host Cavaliers in the fifth as they broke out for eight runs in the inning, ultimately leading to a 11-3 loss for the Tigers, Monday (April 22). 

In the Frontier Athletic Conference loss, the Tigers had five hits and four errors, while Chillicothe totaled nine hits and one error. 

Cohen Six led the Tigers at 2-for-2 with one run, one RBI and one walk. 

Andrew Potts (1-for-3, one walk), Connor McCune (1-for-2, one walk) and Benny Vangundy (1-for-3, two RBI) each had one hit for McClain. 

The Tigers also had Jayden Allison score a run and Owen Sykes force a walk. Potts had the lone steal fo MHS. 

Potts pitched three innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks with one strikeout. Eli Douglas went 1.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits and one walk with one strikeout. Easton Ary pitched 1.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk with one strikeout. 

MHS moves to 6-9 overall.
