Tigers drop conference game at Chillicothe

The McClain Tigers lost a Frontier Athletic Conference game on Wednesday (April 26), falling to the host Chillicothe Cavaliers, 12-2 in five innings.

The Tigers’ runs were scored in the top of the first, as they ended the inning leading 2-1.

From there, it was all Chillicothe, as the Cavaliers scored nine runs in the bottom of the third, then one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings for their 12-run total.

MHS totaled three hits in the loss, and they committed two errors.

The Tigers were led by Seth Weller at 1-for-3, Kaden Penwell at 1-for-2 (one run, one steal) and Andrew Potts at 1-for-2 (one RBI). Haydon Hice scored a run and walked once.

Penwell pitched two innings, allowing seven earned runs on two hits and six walks. He struck out two batters.

Cohen Six pitched two innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk, while striking out two batters.

The loss moves McClain’s overall record to 7-11-1 overall.
