MHS Lady Tigers golf defeats Wilmington

The McClain Lady Tigers golf team traveled to Wilmington Elks on Wednesday, Aug. 7 for a non-conference match against the Wilmington Lady Hurricane, as McClain won the team event and Kaylin Sterling of McClain was the match medalist.

MHS won with a score of 217, while WHS had a score of 220. The win brings the Lady Tigers’ cumulative record to 10-12 to start the season.

Sterling led the way for MHS with a score of 47, and next for McClain was Abbie Lovett with a score of 54.

Hailey Cornett carded a score of 56, followed by Kallie Posey (60), Addison Goddard (68) and Maguire Ross (70).

Wilmington’s scores included: Abi Early (49), Kailey Pfister (49), Emma Adams (61), Claire Conner (61), Ellie Molt (65) and Sydney Bennett (66).
