McClain volleyball falls to Miami Trace and Clinton-Massie

On Thursday (Sept. 24) and Saturday (Sept. 26), the McClain Lady Tigers volleyball team lost matches to the Miami Trace Lady Panthers and Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons. 

Thursday’s match vs. Miami Trace saw MHS fall in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-08 and 25-15. 

In the loss at McClain High School — as games are being played in the old gym due to water damage in the new gym — the Lady Tigers totaled 11 kills, 11 assists, five aces, 18 digs and eight blocks. 

Senior Shelby Wise totaled one assist, one ace, and three digs. Junior Adalynn Snyder finished with one kill, two aces and five digs. Fellow senior Molly McCune had five assists. 

Sophomore Brynlee Karnes totaled four kills, one assist, three digs and four blocks. Junior Alaya Jackson had two kills, three digs and a block. 

MHS sophomore Allie Havens finished with one kill, three assists, two aces, two digs and a block. Sophomore Brylee Douglas had one kill and two blocks. Junior Brooklyn Bolendar had two kills, one assist and two digs. 

On Saturday (Sept. 26), the Lady Tigers lost in four sets to the host Lady Falcons. McClain won set two at 25-21. CMHS won sets one (25-16), three (25-18) and four 25-18). 

For the match, team totals of McClain included 27 kills, 25 assists, 12 aces, 52 digs and seven blocks. 

Bolender totaled two kills, one ace, eight digs and two blocks. Douglas finished with one kill, one assist and three aces. Havens had three kills, 10 assists, one ace and three digs. 

Jackson ended the match with seven kills, two assists, three aces and 10 digs. Karnes totaled 11 kills, three assists, two aces, four digs and four blocks. McCune had eight assists, one ace and five digs. 

McClain’s Snyder totaled three kills, one assist, 13 digs and a block. Wise ended the match with one ace and nine digs. 

McClain now has an overall record of 1-13 with a SHAC mark of 0-6.
