Lady Tigers run-rule Fairfield Union

It was a winning Thursday for the McClain Lady Tigers as they gained a non-conference victory over the visiting Fairfield Union Lady Falcons, 16-5 in five innings at Daryle Unger Field in Greenfield.
McClain held a 2-1 lead after the first inning, then added two more runs in the bottom of the second for a 4-1 lead.
Then came their strongest inning with seven runs in the bottom of the third, followed by a two-run fourth and three runs in the fifth.
Fairfield Union had one run in the top of the first, followed by a run in the third, two runs in the fourth and one run in the top of the fifth.
McClain totaled 14 hits and no errors, while the Lady Falcons had eight hits and one error.
Emma Posey was 4-for-4 at the plate for the Lady Tigers, with three runs and four RBI, with two of her hits being doubles.
Cami Gall — after missing most of last season, and all of this season, up until this week with an ACL injury — pitched five innings in the circle and she was 3-for-3 at the plate with one run, five RBI and one walk. One of Gall’s hits was a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Gall also gained the pitching win with one strikeout.
Brie Cummins was 2-for-3 with two runs, a sacrifice fly and one RBI, while teammate Olivia Stegbauer was 2-for-3 with two runs, one RBI and a walk. Kambriah Tomlin finished 2-for-2 with two runs, one RBI and one walk.
Leah Lovett went 1-for-2 with two runs. Amaya Ryan walked once, while Kyndee Williams scored one run and was hit by a pitch. Brylee Douglas scored two runs, two RBI and a walk.

On Tuesday, April 7, the McClain Lady Tigers lost to host Logan Elm, 12-2 in five innings.
McClain scored one run in the top of the first and another run in the fifth inning. Logan Elm had two runs in the bottom of the first, a five-run fifth, four runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth.
MHS totaled five hits and three errors, while Logan Elm totaled 10 hits and no errors.
Brie Cummins finished the game 2-for-3 with a home run, one run and two RBI. Kambriah Tomlin was 1-for-3, Amaya Ryan went 1-for-1 with a walk and Brylee Douglas went 1-for-2 with a run. Leah Lovett finished with a walk, and Emma Posey had one walk.
Pitching for McClain were Izzy Hall, Kyndee Williams and Gall (one strikeout).

The McClain Lady Tigers played a home game on Friday, April 10 as they hosted the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons in an 11-2 loss at Daryle Unger Field.
McClain battled with five hits and two runs, but committed four errors. The Lady Falcons totaled 14 hits and had one error.
In the game, the Lady Tigers scored their two runs with one in the bottom of the sixth and a run in the seventh inning. CMHS had one run each in the first and third innings, two runs in the fourth and five runs in the fifth inning.
McClain saw Emma Posey go 1-for-3 with one RBI and a walk. Olivia Stegbauer was 1-for-4, Cami Gall finished 1-for-3, Kambriah Tomlin was 1-for-2 with a run and walk, and Amaya Ryan ended the game at 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk. Brie Cummins collected a run and a steal.
Kyndee Williams pitched 3.1 innings, allowing two earned runs with two strikeouts. Gall pitched 3.2 innings, allowing two earned runs with one strikeout.
MHS now stands at 2-5 overall.
