The McClain varsity girls basketball team seems to be hitting on all cylinders recently and it showed again Saturday afternoon after the Lady Tigers dismantled FAC foe Washington, 46-23.

It was a second straight game that McClain had blown out a conference opponent by double-digit deficits.

This contest just like Wednesday's against Chillicothe saw the Lady Tigers lead from start to finish and after a 13-6 first quarter, hold a double-figure advantage the rest of the game.

Junior multi-talented player Paisley Pryor once again scorched the nets scoring a game-high 23 points to pace McClain, she had 17 of her team’s 24 first half points, when they led 24-12 at the intermission.

The game was never really in doubt and was pretty much over when the Lady Tigers outscored Washington 10-3 in the third period and increased their lead to a commanding 34-15 score.

Both McClain head coach Shania Massie and Washington’s veteran coach John Denen emptied their benches in the fourth quarter allowing everyone to play in the game.

The Lady Tigers out-pointed their FAC rivals 12-9 in that final frame bringing the games final total to 46-23 and extending McClain’s overall record on the year to 4-1 and (2-0) in the FAC.

The Lady Tigers will be back in action Monday, Dec. 8 when they host non-conference foe Zane Trace in a (varsity only) game beginning at 6 p.m. McClain then entertains FAC rival Jackson on Wednesday, Dec. 10 with a 5:30 JV game start time.

Individual scoring for McClain: Paisley Pryor 23, Larah Henson 7, Leah Lovett 6, Allie Burgess 6, Brie Cummins 2, and McKenzie West 2. 3-point goals  were made by Pryor 2, Burgess 2, and Henson 1.

The Lady Tigers converted 7-of-9 free-throw shots for 78-percent.

Washington was led in scoring by Kate Miller and Peyton Hughes who both scored six points each. The Lady Blue Lions made 4-of-7 free-throws for the game.
