Nothing like a pie in the face on a Friday night

The Hillsboro Indians won the rivalry varsity game with the McClain Tigers Friday, but Greenfield Rotary Club President and Greenfield Exempted Village Schools Superintendent Quincey Gray won the battle of the pie in the face.

The Greenfield Rotary Club held a chili and hot dog supper on Jan. 16 at McClain High School prior to the three games between MHS and HHS, and along with that, was a little friendly competition between the Greenfield and Hillsboro Rotary clubs as their respective schools battled on the courts – and their club presidents, Gray and Hillsboro Rotary Club President Doug Karnes – made a little wager.

Of the three basketball games taking place in the high school gym Friday, whichever Rotary Club’s school won the most of those games, the president of that club got to put a pie in the face of the other. McClain took two of the three.

The two Rotary clubs have supported their respective communities, and the global community through Rotary, for more than a century each.
