Memorial Day events in Pricetown announced; Mike Labig to be guest speaker
The annual Memorial Day activities in Pricetown will be held on Monday, May 29. The march to Barker Cemetery will begin at 10 a.m.
Pricetown Church of Christ Senior Minister Daryl Mount will present the message in the cemetery and Quinton Blankenship will be the honored veteran. Everyone will then return to the Pricetown Church for the annual program at 11 a.m.
The program will feature patriotic songs, pledges to the flags, the Gettysburg Address, a keynote presentation and the honoring of all veterans. The traditional Quilts of Honor will also be presented.
The keynote presentation will be given by Mike Labig. Labig served in the U.S. Navy, and he traveled to more than 30 countries. He also served as a Protestant lay chaplain on one of the ships.
Following the cemetery march and the church program, the annual community dinner will be served in the fellowship hall beginning at noon. The Pricetown Church of Christ provides this meal free to everyone. It will be served until at least p.m.
