Hillsboro Eagles Aerie 1161 recently gave a generous donation of $5,000 to Altrusa International of Highland County for their ongoing mission to improve literacy in our communities.

The Eagles is a fraternal organization with the motto, “People Helping People,” and they support many local organizations.

This donation to Altrusa will assist with the purchase of books for students in the county in grades Pre-K to 5 and the expansion of the club project to support teachers and students in grade 6 with literacy materials. Pictured are Altrusa member Mary Stanforth members of the Eagles making the donation.
