Robert Owen Pegan

Robert Owen Pegan, 65, of Hillsboro, passed away June 30, 2023 following a motorcycle accident.

He was born Oct. 27, 1957 to the late Robert Ivan Pegan and Charma Louise (Dick) Pegan.

He was a member of Hillsboro Eagles Aerie 1161 for many years. He was also a member of the Southwest Ohio Carpenter Union for many years. He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan. He loved to spend time with his dog, Butch, and loved to hunt mushrooms and ginseng.  Bob loved nothing more than the open road and the thrill of the ride on his Harley Davidson. He lived a life full of adventure, passion and love, and his loved ones are grateful for the time they had with him.

He is survived by his children, Stephanie (Richard) Crum of Leesburg, Abagayl Moore of Xenia, Crystal Chambers and James (Brooke) Chambers of Hillsboro; his grandchildren, Kaylee (Robert) Miller of Leesburg and Megan Crum, Hayden Chambers, Bradley and Heath McGravy and Layla Tolle, all of Hillsboro; his siblings, Gary Pegan of Newark, Bobbie (Randy) Zimmerman of Hillsboro, Ramona Pegan of Paintsville, Ky., Courtland (Tina) Pegan of Columbus, Ga. and Jeannette (Wayne) Keeton of Salyersville, Ky.; aunts, Donna Dick Armstrong and Patty Pegan; his nieces and nephews, Stella Pegan, Audrey French, Missy Daniels, David Joseph, Robert Campbell, Bill Pegan, Tim Pegan, Benji Gibson, Gina Gibson, Michael Gipson, Duwayne Gipson, Michele Greene, Courtland Pegan Jr., Rhiannon Pegan, Tian Brooks, Samantha Fletcher, Carie Keeton; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and his very best friend and cousin, Rusty Pegan.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Courtland H. and Stella M. (Holiday) Pegan; maternal grandparents, Earl D. and Evelyn M. (Grove) Dick; aunts, Dorothy Showmaker, Charlotte Shoemaker, Thelma May, Elma May and Shirley Boyd; uncle, Russell Pegan; nephew, James Robert Pegan; and niece, Minnie E. Pegan

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Troutline Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
