Robert 'Bob' Francis Siefke
Robert “Bob” Francis Siefke, 85, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 20, 1938 in Norwood, Ohio, the son of the late Aloysius and Margaret (Hulskamp) Siefke.
Bob was a 1956 graduate of Purcell High School in Cincinnati, and after graduating he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 until 1960. Once completing his duty in the Navy, he earned his police science degree from Thomas Moore College in 1973 and was a police officer for over 30 years. Bob was a member of the St. Gertrude Church in Madeira. He enjoyed bowling, tennis, traveling and going to casinos, and he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Siefke; five children, John Siefke, Jeffrey (Tonya Cox) Siefke, Robin (Ed) Baker, James (Sparky Cowens) Siefke and Kim (Steven) Tinnel; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings, Anna, Margaret, Gertrude, Joseph, Ruth, Aloysius Jr., Elizabeth “Betty,” Bob’s twin sister Kathryn and Phillip; and a grandchild, Bradley Duncan.
Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory in Hillsboro. Celebration of Bob’s life will begin at 1 p.m. followed by military honors, presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard, at the funeral home. Father Mike Paraniuk will be the celebrant.
