Register to attend Ohio EPA’s 2023 free, virtual sustainability conference
Ohio EPA invites business executives and community leaders from across Ohio to attend a free, virtual sustainability conference being held Sept. 19-21.
Participants in this annual event will learn how to implement cost-effective and environmentally sustainable programs with a focus on food waste diversion, sustainable farming and community initiatives including opportunities for energy development.
“Even small efforts, over time, can improve our quality of life and help make Ohio the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Ohio EPA Director Anne M. Vogel. “I encourage every person responsible for making energy and waste decisions for their community to attend this year’s free, virtual conference.”
The three-day conference starts Sept. 19 at 9 a.m. Highlights include:
• Tuesday: Federal Funding for You, presented by Jessica Kuenzli, Ohio EPA, and Christina O’Keefe, Ohio Air Quality Development Authority, discussing federal grant opportunities.
• Wednesday: The Truth About Ohio’s Recycling, with speakers from Rumpke, Waste Management, and The Recycling Partnership, dispelling myths about recycling programs and explaining end-use markets in Ohio.
• Thursday: Break it Down: A Zero Waste Discussion, presented by the Ohio Department of Agriculture and the City of Columbus, providing guidance on organizing a-zero waste event — from local festivals to the Ohio State Fair.
