Reds announce homestand highlights for Sept. 1-10
The Cincinnati Reds have announced the following homestand highlights for their upcoming series vs. the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners and St. Louis Cardinals, Sept. 1-10.
Friday, Sept. 1 – Reds vs. Chicago Cubs - game 1, 1:10 p.m. (gates open at 11:40 a.m.)

• Rescheduled Game: Today’s game was rescheduled from Wednesday, April 5 due to rain.
• The Breeders First Pitch: Members of the groundbreaking alternative rock band The Breeders will offer up a ceremonial first pitch. The band, based out of Dayton, Ohio, is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark album “Last Splash” and recently finished a tour in support of the Foo Fighters.

• Military Appreciation Day: Tonight’s game is the final Reds Military Appreciation Day of the season, presented by CareSource. Many of the ceremonies will feature service members from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Members of the military and first responders can purchase discount tickets at reds.com/Military.
• Blue Jackets: Adam Fantilli, the Columbus Blue Jackets 1st round (#3 overall) pick in the 2023 NHL draft, will throw out a ceremonial pitch. The Blue Jackets home opener is Oct. 12 vs. the Philadelphia Flyers.
Saturday, Sept. 2 – Reds vs. Chicago Cubs - 6:40 p.m. (gates open at 5:10 p.m.)

• Childhood Cancer Awareness Day: MLB and its Clubs will raise awareness for childhood cancer for a special league-wide day during all games today. Representatives from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the Dragonfly Foundation will participate in pregame ceremonies. The News of the Game will highlight a recent Reds player visit to Cincinnati Children’s and the donation of a Starlight Virtual Reality Headset. Players and on-field personnel will wear gold ribbons and wristbands to show their support for the cause.
• Mascot T-Ball Game: The annual mascot t-ball game will take place from approx. 11 to 11:30 a.m. featuring mascots from local schools and businesses along with Rosie Red, Mr. Redlegs, Mr. Red and Gapper.

• AFL-CIO: Over 3,500 local labor union members, family and friends are expected to be at the game today for the Cincinnati AFL-CIO Labor Council Labor Day Event. Many local labor leaders and officials will be in attendance including Tim Burga, president of the Ohio State AFL-CIO, throwing out a ceremonial pitch.

• Reflections of a Bat Boy: An Inside Look at the Big Red Machine featuring Warren Brown - Sept. 9: Warren Brown, a Reds bat boy from 1970-72, will share memories of his time with the Reds as the Big Red Machine began its historic march through the decade of the 1970s. His entertaining and engaging presentation includes a host of stories about this legendary team that only an insider would know. Brown’s experiences with the team included the 1970 All-Star Game and the 1970 and 1972 World Series.vDon’t miss this fond remembrance of the greatest team in Reds history. • Dave Parker Autograph Signing - Sept. 9: Reds Hall of Famer Dave Parker will sign autographs for fans on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Williams Family Champions Gallery. Raised in Cincinnati, Parker became one of the game’s best players in the 1970s while playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Parker was named the NL’s Most Valuable Player in 1978 and was a key member of the “We Are Family” Pirates’ 1979 World Championship club. The first major free agent acquisition in Reds history, Parker signed with his hometown club in 1984 and helped the Reds return to contention. The runner-up in voting for the 1985 NL MVP Award, Parker led the league in doubles and RBIs that season. A two-time All-Star and Silver Slugger Award winner during his 1984-1987 Reds career, he was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 2014.
